Computer Science
The IRIMAS Computer Science Department brings together all of its researchers around a central theme: managing big data. Structured into three expert teams (OMeGA, MSD, and RT), it covers the entire information lifecycle, from network acquisition to analysis using artificial intelligence. This organization fosters cutting-edge interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly with mathematics and control theory, to address the challenges of modern connected systems. With a staff of about thirty, the department ensures strategic visibility for computer science research in Mulhouse and Colmar.
Mathematics
The IRIMAS Department of Mathematics brings together UHA experts in two teams: Analysis (dynamic systems, modeling) and Algebra-Geometry (quantification, mathematical physics). With a strong interdisciplinary focus, it collaborates with the institute’s computer scientists and automation engineers and oversees the Master’s in Data Science (IMDS). As a founding member of the regional federation MaGE, the department is renowned for its fundamental research and its strong commitment to science outreach and high-level training.
Automation, Signals, and Images
The Automation, Signals, and Image (ASI) Department at IRIMAS brings together UHA’s expertise in information processing and control systems. Structured around the IMTIS and MIAM teams, its research focuses on two main areas: TAM-TAM (sustainable mobility, robotics, and e-health) and PHYSICA (innovative instrumentation and 3D imaging). Combining theory and technology transfer, the department collaborates with industrial partners of all sizes to design the smart systems and processes of tomorrow, from machine vision to smart energy management.
